Bulgaria

Applications were opened for grants for geothermal projects in the Bulgarian energy plan of the EEA Grants in 2021, under the heading "Use of geothermal for heating & cooling in state or municipal buildings" (BGENERGY-1.002). A total of 3.4 million euros are available for allocation, with a grant rate of up to 100%.

The goal of the energy plan in Bulgaria is to increase the production of renewable energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Bilateral cooperation is also an important objective. Applications from collaborators in Iceland or Norway receive additional points during evaluation. Interested parties in Iceland are encouraged to familiarize themselves with this opportunity.
